Parents Involvement
Volunteering
Being a parent volunteer is a great experience! You meet other families, share information and ideas, and set a good example for our students.

There are many volunteer opportunities available. Driving on field trips, helping with the FISW Community Association (FCA), or serving on the gala committee are just some of the ways parents help out. There are many other ways to get involved, and we can find something that will that fit your schedule, availability, skills and interests.

We do not require a certain number of volunteer hours. Instead, we recognize instead that families will help out in whatever way they can, according to their schedules.
Volunteer Matching Programs
Some companies, including Microsoft, match the time that you volunteer to FISW, donating up to $25 per hour. Before this match kicks in, you must first volunteer 10 hours. After this initial time requirement, you can request a monetary match in 1-hour increments.

The FCA meets throughout the school year, about every other month. Meeting agendas will include volunteer opportunities, school business, upcoming events, and guest speakers. All parents are encouraged to attend. It’s a great opportunity to socialize with other parents, teachers, staff, and board members.
The FCA also organizes social events and community gatherings throughout the year including coffee socials and seasonal family social events.
For more information including upcoming FCA events and opportunities for involvement, contact the FCA leadership team by email at fca@fisw.org. They are always happy to hear from you.
