Thankfulness With Kate Moorhead Cales (English Teacher) & The Pumas (K)
What do you love, and what are you thankful for?
This month in Kindergarten we’re setting time aside, all month, to consider gratitude. It’s a year-round concept and there’s so much for which to be thankful. I told the Pumas that even though it’s a funny word, gratitude is simply enjoying things, activities, and people that we love. As it turns out, we take delight in many things! Skiing, steam trains, donuts, cake pops, music, rainy days, sunny days…the list continues. We’re making thankful journals this month and we play games.
In related news, we’re also thankful for our peers in class. We don’t have to be friends with everyone, but we do have to be respectful to everyone. To practice this skill, we played a game in partners trading compliments. Kids practice receiving a kind word and saying “Thank you,” and then they return the favor by saying something kind to their partner.
We’re thankful!
