Road To Revolution
With The Cheetahs (4th Grade)
In learning about the events leading up to the American Revolution, the students were given many activities to complete in the shoes of the colonists.
The day after our "stamp tax" activity (paying the King, Tax Collector, and Parliament in Skittles) the colonists were very upset, especially after seeing how much money they had paid and how they couldn't avoid paying the tax.
Continuing with the sentiment, the students decided it was time to show the King and Parliament that they refused to be taxed without any representation in Parliament. The result was a frenzied rush of energy and a protest in front of the school! Safe to say that the 4th grade class understands how the colonists were feeling and are likely ready to start their own revolution...
