The Cheetahs (4th Grade) Learned More About The Spies In The American Revolution
The 4th graders learned about spies in the American Revolution and were fascinated to learn that messages were passed from spy to spy by using a clothesline and clean laundry! The spies were able to decode the message because each piece of clothing had a secret message/the color meant something/ the number of clothing items indicated something. So by simply doing laundry, Patriot women were able to support the army!
The student then got to build their own clotheslines using cups, string, tape, and paperclips. After successfully creating a laundry line, they then had to create their own code in clothing to hang on the line. Their results are all so varied and impressive!
