We had a very nice and busy day in Paris. We walked to the “Palais de la Découverte” to see the Planetarium, then an incredible exhibition about Louis Pasteur. After the visit, two private vans were waiting to take us to Ile de la Cité. We walked close to Notre-Dame and had lunch in a very Parisian bistrot.
After lunch, we walked up the boulevard Saint Michel, along the 3rd century ruins of the Roman baths of Cluny and tried to visit the Museum of Middle Ages. It was closed for renovation, so we then went to the Panthéon, a 18th century church with a dome modeled after the Pantheon in Rome, which was also closed because of the strikes. The area, well I should say Paris, is full of amazing places to visit, so we went to the Gardens of Luxembourg, one of the biggest public park in Paris. We admired the palace of the French Senate, a 17th century palace built by the French queen, Marie de Médicis. Then we visited the Tintoret exhibition in the Musuem of Luxembourg. Tintoret was a Renaissance Venician painter.
After the visit, we had a hot chocolate and went to Notre Dame again, but this time, we took the time to visit the cathedral, one of the finest example of French gothic architecture. We admired the details of the statues and the stained-glass windows. After the visit, we did some book shopping and had another great diner in another restaurant. After dinner, the two vans picked us up and we came back to the hotel for a well-deserved night of sleep.

Nous avons marché jusqu’au Palais de la découverte pour voir le Planétarium, puis une exposition incroyable sur Louis Pasteur. Après la visite, deux vans privés nous attendaient pour nous conduire sur l’Ile de la Cité. Nous avons marché à côté de Notre Dame et avons déjeuné dans un bistrot bien parisien.
Après le repas, nous avons marché sur le boulevard Saint Michel, à côté des ruines des bains romains de Cluny et avons essayé de visiter le musée du Moyen Age. Il était fermé pour cause de restauration, alors nous sommes allés au Panthéon, lui aussi fermé mais cette fois-ci pour cause de grève. Le coin, ou plutôt devrais-je dire Paris est plein d’endroits à visiter, alors nous sommes allés dans les jardins du Luxembourg, un des plus grands parcs publics de Paris. Nous avons admiré le Sénat, un palace du 17eme siècle construit par la reine, Marie de Médicis. Nous avons ensuite visité une exposition sur Tintoret, un peintre vénitien de la renaissance.
Après la visite, nous avons pris un chocolat chaud et sommes retournés à Notre Dame, prenant cette fois le temps de visiter la cathédrale, un des plus beaux exemples de l’architecture romane française. Nous avons pu admirer les détails des vitraux et des statues.
Après la visite, nous avons fait quelques emplètes dans une librairie et avons pris notre repas du soir dans un autre restaurant. Après le diner, les deux bus nous attendaient pour nous ramener à l’hôtel pour une nuit de sommeil bien méritée.
