Goodbye from Mariana
Dear FISW community,
18 years ago I started to work at FISW. It was a small school community with 64 students and I am so proud that I was able to witness our school flourishing from one year to another and become the successful and well known school that is today. 18 years ago I was a former high school teacher starting to work with pre-k students. I discovered at the same time with my little students the magic of playdough, glitter, and stickers. For 18 years I worked with all my heart with families and students. I tried to make possible the impossible and bring to the light my students’ creativity, passion to learn, confidence, spirit of adventure, and the joy of learning. Every project, every step ahead that my students made in my FLE class, every gain of confidence that a student got while working with me in support room filled me with joy. It is with a heavy heart that I am saying goodbye to all of you and take a break for now from FISW. It is time for me to focus more on my personal and professional growth and to continue my career by teaching middle school students along with my private practice. I would love to keep in touch with you and hear news about my former students. My first students are already in college and I still hear from some of them.
Thank you to all the families for trusting me and offering me the opportunity to be part of your child’s education and grow. Thank you to all my colleagues that shared with my all the knowledge they had and that helped my grow professionally. Thank you to both principals I worked with, Veronique and Barbara, for the unconditional support they both offered me during my time at FISW.
