New Statewide covid-19 Restrictions and our policy

Dec 14, 2020

Dear FISW Community,

As the year is ending, I would like to take the time to thank our teachers, our students, our families, and our staff for all their support during this pandemic. Your support allows FISW to be open for in-person instruction: every day PS – 1st Grade and every other week 2nd  –  5th Grade.

We will continue to be open under this plan after the winter break on January 4th. To ensure the health and safety of all, we must continue to follow all of the Health restrictions and recommendations issued by Washington State and by King County.

As most of you know, Gov Inslee has extended statewide restrictions through January 4th.

These restrictions have an impact on expectations for student and staff behavior outside of school during the upcoming holiday season. Gov Inslee extended  Restrictions prohibiting gathering with anyone outside of your household unless all parties (a) quarantine for fourteen (14) days prior to the social gathering; or (b) quarantine for seven (7) days prior to the social gathering and receive a negative COVID19 test result no more than 48-hours prior to the gathering.

These restrictions are in addition to a Travel Advisory recommending against non-essential travel and urging anyone traveling from outside of Washington, including returning Washington residents, to self-quarantine for 14 days.

FISW will follow Governor Inslee’s policies to do our part to slow the spread of COVID-19. As members of our community, we are asking you to do your part. Avoid non-essential travel. All students and staff are expected to quarantine for 14 days, or take a test 5 days after gathering or travel and quarantine for a total of 7 days if the test is negative:

• If they have not complied with quarantine and/or testing restrictions before gathering socially outdoors with more than 5 people or indoors with anyone outside of their household.

• after traveling outside the state.

If you have travel or gathering plans and have not already done so please inform Angelina today. According to your plan, Angelina will ask you to follow the statewide travel recommendations and gathering restrictions. You can join the class remotely during the quarantine period by giving us advance notice.

Thank you for your attention to the health and safety of our community. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions that you might have.
