The First Grade Wolves Discover Crete and the Palace of Knossos
During cultural day in English, the Loup class visited the island of Crete and the Palace of Knossos.
Knossos is a very old Minoan palace known for its frescoes inside and outside the palace. Although the palace is mostly in ruin today, some of the frescoes have been preserved nicely. Knossos also has the legend of the Minotaur. A beast that was half man and half bull and that lived in the interior of a giant labyrinth. The labyrinth did exist and anyone going in would need to hang onto a piece of rope or string to find their way out again.
The students made their own frescoes close to the Minoan theme out of plaster and paint.
