The 3rd Graders Celebrated Black History Month

Celebrating Black History Month was an important focus at FISW in February, from the classrooms to the library. We share here just one of the amazing projects taking place in the classroom.

In English class, each third grader was invited to choose an inspiring black historical figure to research and present. You can see their work below and on display in the FISW hallways.

The students also studied the poetry of Amanda Gormon. After reading Change Sings, they created beautiful self-portraits around the theme that "We are just what the world needs!" You can see their work below and on display in the FISW hallways.
