Parents support FISW every day. They volunteer to drive on field trips, participate on committees, bring in lunches for the staff and teachers, donate items to the auction, attend PTA meetings, and so much more. This kind of support is very important for every independent school; it’s what makes us successful. We hope that every family finds a community at FISW that cares about their child and supports their family.
We also rely on families to help us pay our expenses. Tuition covers about 90% of our costs, but there’s an extra 10% that needs to be met. This is where our families – and fundraising – come in. FISW conducts two major fundraising campaigns every year - an auction and an annual giving campaign. Money raised from both of these fundraisers, unless specified otherwise, is designated toward our general operating budget to cover this gap.
We know that every family has a different financial situation, and different amounts of free time to donate; however, all of us together make a big difference for our school and our students.
FISW is a 501(c)(3)non-profit organization, EIN #31-1657315. Donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
Our students also learn to give back. During the summer of 2011, students and families donated teddy bears to the USO and Camp Erin. Students will also donate toys during the holidays.
