Véronique DussudVéronique Dussud was born in France and received her education at Ecole Normale d'Instituteurs de la Loire. She holds a teaching license from the French Ministry of Education. She expanded her credentials in Education and Educational Supervision in California in 1992, and has been an active member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children since 1985. Ms. Dussud has demonstrated her dedication to the education of children through more than 20 years of professional experience, which constitutes a solid emphasis on French-American bilingual education for young children. Ms. Dussud began her career in St. Etienne, France, where she gained her first professional experience as a preschool and elementary instructor of French children. Afterwards, she moved to the United States where she continued as a lead-educator of children in the American educational system. Later at The French-American School of the Peninsula in addition to her duties as a pre-school instructor, Ms. Dussud was asked to develop a bilingual assessment tool, and manage its implementation in child evaluations and parent/teacher consultations. Combining her ambition, French-American educational experience and her proven administrative skills, Ms. Dussud co-founded a new French-American school in thriving Silicon Valley. Under her direction and vision, The French-American School of Silicon Valley flourished from its inception. As pedagogical director, Ms. Dussud effectively coordinated the learning objectives of both the French and American curricula; developed and managed the teaching and administrative staff; and established and maintained supportive relationships between parents, teachers and school administration. The French-American School of Silicon Valley still thrives today, building upon its well-established foundation. After her success in Silicon Valley, Ms. Dussud moved with her family to Washington where she again undertook the challenge to bring another French-American school into realization. At the French-American School of Puget Sound, Ms. Dussud drew upon her resources and talents as the Director and founder, to build a vibrant student body of over 100 students in just four years. The students at the French-American School of Puget Sound prospered in the educational programs she developed and administered. Under her direction, educational programs, and discerning administrative management the school experienced tremendous growth without compromising its high academic standards. Throughout the 20 years of her career in education, Ms. Dussud and her husband enjoyed raising a family of three children, all of whom are bilingual and bi-cultural. She maintains frequent contact with her family abroad, and thus keeps abreast of the customs, culture, and current affairs of her native France. The French Immersion School of Washington is indeed proud to have Ms. Dussud as Director. Her guidance and contributions in founding the school have proven to be an advantage, while her personable demeanor creates a pleasing atmosphere for the development of our students. The French Immersion School of Washington looks forward to many years of prosperity with Ms. Dussud at the head. |
